Neirda Lafontant

Funducation, Inc.
Neirda is the founder and S.T.E.A.M. Ambassador for FUNducation, LLC. After earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Neirda worked with Engineering companies and took part in community outreach programs to encourage today’s children to become tomorrow’s Engineers. Her experiences led her to discover a passion for encouraging kids to get into Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, also known as S.T.E.A.M. fields.  Realizing that kids often saw those fields as taboo, she wanted to find a way to help them enjoy learning without fear of the subject matter. As she worked toward a Masters in Business, the solution came to her while watching her niece and nephew play – we can teach kids in the moment when they feel the most fearless, open, engaged, and excited: playtime. So she started FUNducation, LLC to tap that potential to help kids engage and learn in S.T.E.A.M. fields.
